The term Pure Sine is used to differentiate sine wave inverters from modified sine wave, the latter which is an approximation of a sine wave achieved through pulse width modulation and as a result has a substantial amount of harmonic content, this harmonic content can lead to substantial decreased efficiencies in circuits designed specifically for AC, i.e. an AC motor, whereas a circuit that merely requires current such as a toaster will not benefit from a pure sine wave. Victron inverter units can be connected in parallel, split or three phase in order to meet specific power requirements and as such can be scaled to suit any demand.
